About the event
Come hear two young, knowledgeable, engaged and energetic members of the Texas Democratic Party. Jasmine Khadem Gonzalez and Micah Erfan are the Congressional District 7 (CD7) representatives on the State Democratic Executive Committee. They will be explaining their duties, the exciting and disappointing things they have seen in their role so far, their goals, and how Clubs like ours can help accomplish them. They will also be sharing what issues are most important to young voters and how we best communicate with them.
Jasmine graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in mathematical biology and a minor in Mexican American studies. While attending she served as the Student Government Association President championing diversity and fighting racial injustice. Currently, she is an immigrant rights organizer in the Houston area working with documented immigrants on the path to citizenship, as well undocumented immigrants seeking safety and equity.
