Annette Ramirez is the recently elected Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar for Harris County. This position has several responsibilities, including property tax collections at legally-mandated levels, disbursement to districts that provide public services, vehicle registrations and voter registration.
Annette began her career working in logistics and operations for oil and gas tankers, but pivoted to a career in the law while she began her family. She worked in the legal department for Aldine Independent School District for over 20 years where she was responsible for overseeing the District’s in-house property tax collection, litigation, and real estate matters.
Annette’s work at Aldine ISD made her uniquely qualified for her newly elected role. Aldine is the only school district in Texas that collects its own property taxes.
